Overview
Turn an existing PDF (such as a paper form) into a digital registration form. PDF conversion is the fastest way to digitize a form by automatically creating its fields and sections — but it's still best practice to review the converted form before using it live.
Before you begin
- Access to Config > Registration.
- The PDF file you want to convert.
Steps
- Go to Config > Registration.
- In the Forms section, click Create from PDF.
- In the Create from PDF window, either drag and drop your PDF into the upload area, or click the upload area to browse and select the file.
- Once the file is selected, click Upload.
- Wait for the confirmation message. You should see a note that the form conversion has started.
- Refresh the page after a few moments. The system creates the form in the background, so it may not appear immediately.
- Find the new form in the Forms list.
- Click Edit to review the setup. Here you can update the Title, Description, Sequence, how often the form is required, and any integration or miscellaneous settings.
- Open the Sections tab and review what was created from the PDF. Conversion creates the form's fields and sections for you, but review the result and make any needed adjustments.
- Click Save once your updates are complete.
Optional next steps
- To test the finished form, use Preview or Preview & Test from the form's Actions menu.
- To make more detailed changes to the layout or fields, use Open in Designer.
Troubleshooting
- If the new form doesn't appear in the Forms list, then refresh the page — the form is created in the background and may take a moment.
- If the converted fields or sections aren't quite right, then adjust them in the Sections tab or Open in Designer before using the form live.
