Overview
Turn on reminder channels (call, SMS, email) for a specific resource or provider and choose which templates it uses. This setting controls which reminder channels a provider or resource is allowed to use — if a channel is off here, reminders for appointments tied to that provider will not send through that method.
Before you begin
- Access to Config> Reminders > Resources.
Steps
- Go to Config> Reminders > Resources.
- Find the resource or provider you want to update.
- Click Edit on that resource or provider.
- Open the Reminder Information tab.
- Review the template selections — Call Template, SMS Template, and Email Template. Use these if this provider should use a specific reminder template instead of the default.
- Turn on the reminder channels you want this resource or provider to allow:
- SMS Reminders Enabled
- Call Reminders Enabled
- Email Reminders Enabled
- To let patients confirm during automated phone reminders, turn on Call Confirmations Enabled. This allows confirmation behavior during reminder calls for that provider.
- Leave any channel turned off if that provider should not receive reminders through that method. (Example: for text and email reminders but no phone calls, leave Call Reminders Enabled off.)
- Click Save.
- Repeat these steps for any other resources or providers that should be reminder-enabled.
Troubleshooting
- If reminders still aren't sending after enabling them here, then confirm the rest of the setup is in place. A reminder also needs an active reminder setting or booking notification setup, the matching template, and the channel enabled at the appointment type and location level if those are also being used.
