Enable Languages for Patient Communication

Creation date: 6/8/2026 9:39 PM    Updated: 6/8/2026 9:39 PM

Overview

Enabling a language makes it available in your account for patient-facing content and allows items like message templates, registration forms, and appointment instructions to be translated into that language. Enabling a language does not translate your content on its own — it just makes the language available.

Before you begin

  • Access to Config > Organization Settings > Languages.

Enable a language

  1. Go to Config > Organization Settings > Languages.
  2. Stay on the Enabled Languages tab.
  3. Review the list of available languages.
  4. Check the box for each language you want to make available. Options include Spanish, French, French Canadian, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Arabic, Korean, Russian, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Persian, and Armenian.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Translate your content

Enabling a language doesn't translate content automatically. Next, go to the Translations tab on the same screen to manage translated content. From there, your team can review missing translations, add translations manually, and generate translations for enabled languages.

Once a language is enabled, these patient-facing content types can be translated into it: message templates, registration forms, and appointment instructions.

Troubleshooting

  • If a language is enabled but patients still see English for an item, then the content hasn't been translated yet. Review the Translations tab and make sure the needed content is translated.
